What a magical engagement session I got to photograph among lavender and tulip fields at Underwood Family Farms! The sweetest couple, bright colored flowers, blue sky and the cutest guest as a surprise – a calf who came to congratulate our couple!
But first come first, let me share more about Miguel and Alex and the heartwarming love story! Miguel, originally from Mexico, moved to the US at a young age and embraced it as his home. A collector at heart, he enjoys amassing pocket knives, gold coins, and memories from his travels with Alex. Here is what Alex shared with me: “Miguel is the most selfless person I know. He always puts others before himself and that is what makes him an amazing friend and soon to be husband. He is shy at the beginning but once he gets comfortable he can be a real jokesters. Miguel really is a keeper :).”
Alex, on the other hand, is a California native, born and raised in Ventura County, with Mexican roots. She loves trying new things, from practicing kung fu and lion dancing to indulging in bullet journaling, piano, and cooking. It’s also so cute what Miguel said about her: “Alex is like a cocoon with many many layers, or as she likes to self proclaim “tough cookie”. It takes peeling through a lot of layers to get to her softer side. But once you reach the center of her affection she will show you love”.
How did they find each other? Well, Miguel and Alex are high school sweethearts! Their love story began in a chemistry class and blossomed when as spending time with mutual friends. Since then they have been inseparable for the most part. They even graduated from the same university!
Their perfect date? A visit to a local brewery, followed by a feast of delicious food and a cozy movie night at home. Together, they enjoy the simple pleasures of life, from savoring a good cup of coffee to exploring new destinations hand in hand.
When they thought of their engagement session, they really wanted it to be at Underwood Family Farms. After all the rains this winter, it turned out to be such a beautiful day! The tulip fields were breathtaking and the lavender fields though not in bloom were still spectacular. And we had a special treat: a sweet calf from the farm stopped by to say hello to this magnificent couple! So sweet, isn’t it? =) Scroll to the very end to see this cuteness!
As they look forward to their wedding day, Alex and Miguel share one simple wish: to give their loved ones a memorable celebration filled with joy and laughter. In each other’s arms, they have found a lifetime of happiness and adventure, ready to take on whatever life throws their way.
Thank you so much for having me capture this special time in your life, dear Alex and Miguel! I can’t wait for the big day and all the love and joy that your family and friends will share with you.
