What an absolutely AMAZING King Gillette Ranch engagement I had with Erin and Brett recently!
From our first emails to each other, I felt such an immediate connection with them. You know, when you feel like you talk to an old friend who you haven’t seen in a while and just catching up on life. That’s what it was like with Erin and Brett!
There were so many things the 3 of us shared, starting from Erin actually visiting my home country Russia back a few years ago. She was on a dance tour from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg traveling via the Trans Siberian Railroad line – what an experience! More so, some of Brett’s ancestors were from Russia too! How awesome is that?? Then the more we chatted, the more things came up: big foodie fans, the love of exploring and adventures – new places to see, new cafes to enjoy. Erin and I also share the love of wine, peanut butter m&m’s, and being very organized 🙂
I’ve truly loved getting to know them as they are super sweet and also have a lot of fun goofing around (who else would do a tap dance in the parking lot after our engagement session??). When I asked them what they like doing together here is what they said:
Erin: Sleeping In!
Brett: Cooking together (despite it being rough in the beginning, we’re a strong team now!)
Erin: Hanging out at the beach.
Brett: Making cocktails at home and enjoying them with each other.
Erin: Hanging out with each other’s close family.
Brett: Going to new restaurants.
Erin: Ditto!
Aren’t they just adorable?? =)
You’ll love their love story too! Erin and Brett first met back 8 years ago while working together at a Williams-Sonoma store in Portland where they, without really knowing, had crushes on each other. 4 years passed, and it wasn’t until they were both single and after Brett had moved away to Las Vegas that they actually learned of each other’s mutual feelings. Brett had messaged Erin confessing his crush. Erin decided “Hey, why not go have some fun in Vegas and see what this crush is all about.” …and from then on, the two of them knew they didn’t want to ever be apart. Brett moved back to Portland for Erin, later on they moved to Seattle and now back to Southern California, where Brett was originally from, in hopes to settle down here in Los Angeles for long.
Brett’s proposal to Erin was very special too! They went on a little getaway to Laguna beach back in June 2019. Brett had been trying to find the right time to propose for a while and that Laguna trip was a great opportunity for him to pop the question (“finally!” said Erin 🙂 ). They were strolling the beach before their last dinner of the trip. The sunset was epic… and the breeze was just the right temperature. They were taking selfies together and then Erin saw Brett start to kneel behind her on the sand! So before she knew it they were engaged! Fortunately, there was a sweet woman who was walking by and when she recognized what was going on, she dropped everything (her boogie board and whatnot) and ran to them to take photos. How wonderful was that?
Now Brett and Erin are very excited about this new chapter in their lives: to see their loved ones connect and dance the night away at their wedding, to have a home, to share adventures, to grow together, and to continue as one.
Congratulations on your engagement, my dear Erin and Brett! I can’t wait for your big day to come and capture more love and joy that you and your families share!
