This beach engagement session near Ventura was truly a dream come true! The sand, the waves, the ocean breeze, and two madly in love people celebrating love and life…

January and February can be quite unpredictable with weather here in Southern California. It can be anything from sunny and warm like in summer to apparently even snowy which happened just a few weeks ago (to note: last time it snowed here was around 60 years ago – wow!!). This winter we had a lot of rainy days, and even though light drizzle can add some fun to the photos, it would be a little harder to pull off some heavy rain storms 🙂

So Trey, Suzanne, and I have been waiting for our chance. And after rescheduling twice, we lucked out with a great day! The sun, calm water, and a light breeze: couldn’t be much more perfect! No wonder they say 3rd time is a charm!

Suzanne and Trey are getting married this summer. I was so inspired by their story! They first connected online and then decided to meet up for a couple of drinks. Well, those drinks lasted for about 3 hours: they just couldn’t stop talking and getting to know each other. They quickly fell in love. Some would think too quick, but destiny has other plans 😉

After two years, on the night before Thanksgiving, Trey and Suzanne were visiting her parents. He set up flowers in the guest house and asked Suzanne to be his wife and spend the rest of their lives together. He did it that night so they could share the exciting time with their families the following day. So romantic!!

You could tell how sweet and kind they both are! They are both very passionate about their families. They both love to be outdoors and hike. Trey loves to golf and he likes craft beers (and Star Wars, right? 😉 ). Suzanne likes adventure and likes to relax watching a good TV show. They are also both very passionate about their jobs and helping people. Trey works in financial services and Suzanne works as a school administrator at a school for students with severe autism. They fit each other perfectly, don’t you think?

And when I asked what each of them is looking forward to most about married life, they both answered: “Being with my best friend everyday”.

And now: would you ever think that this was their 1st professional photo session EVER? Well, with no doubts they ROCKED it like pros! I can’t wait for their big day this upcoming summer!
